NYCFC Away: Travel Guide

Are you going to New York City this weekend for the Orlando City match against Man Citeh B? Well we've got the perfect travel guide for your Memorial day weekend in New York.

Breakfast:

The City that never sleeps isn't relatively known for it's breakfast but after doing some research we came across the perfect breakfast spot to get your Away days trip going. While this breakfast spot involves quite a bit of travel, we promise you won't be disappointed. 1 hour and 45 minutes south of Manhattan in Freehold, NJ is the most delightful breakfast joint known as Golden Corral. Never short on options, you'll leave Golden Corral with your mates ready to take on the World.

Attractions:

While there might not be a whole lot to do in the Big Apple, we interviewed numerous former New York residents and after months of research we were able to come across a few things to do while wondering the city. We suggest starting off with a visit to the Statue of Liberty. Created in 2009, the Statue of Liberty in New York is a direct replica of the original Statue of Liberty in Las Vegas. After a quick stop at the Statue of Liberty, a walk through Manhattan seems like a great way to work off all those waffles you had at Golden Corral. In Manhattan, you can stumble across the real life versions of Spiderman, Captain America and Elmo. Most of these characters have had movies made about their daily lives where they didn't receive any of the profits, so it'd be wise to get a picture with them and give them a few bucks.

Lunch:

After trips to the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan, it's time to grab some lunch. Some say that New York has great pizza, so we'll suggest you go that route. You'll want to pass by all the the wannabe local New York spots and head straight towards a big sign that says Sbarro. It's more of a locals secret spot so you might have to wait in line for awhile.

Attractions Continued:

Full of pizza, it's time to go swimming! After making a quick stop at your Holiday Inn to grab your swim trunks and beach gear, you're ready for a swim in the Hudson River. You may come across a few signs that say "Not Safe For Swimming" but don't mind those, those are just there to keep tourists out. After a nice swim in the Hudson, you're going to want to dry off and head on over to Dairy Queen, a New York staple for Ice Cream.

Dinner/Nightlife:

New York City is truly the City that Never Sleeps which you'll soon find out after your first night out on the town. On 42nd St. you'll find an awesome spot for dinner and drinks, Applebee's. Known for it's organic and locally grown foods, Applebee's has taken New York by storm since opening in 2014. Applebee's has made a name for itself with it's fresh local mozzarella sticks. After dinner, Applebee's really gets the party started with karaoke by the bar where you can find local up and coming artists such as The Strokes and Jay-Z perform on a nightly basis.

In conclusion, New York City isn't the best of away trips but with our travel guide we think you'll have a grand time in the Big Apple.

I'm Out!

Vamos Orlando!

2016 Will Open Against NYCFC at the Citrus Bowl

We have no credibility.  I get it.  You have every right to take nothing we say seriously.  Our blog is thus far full of utter nonsense written with the intention to make you either laugh or incite phony anger and outrage over us mocking the entire amateur blog culture that takes itself far too seriously and is mostly full of bullshit analysis and dopey opinions.  If we achieve either, we have reached our goal.  Based on the 25,000 hits we have received in the first two weeks, we have at least succeeded at garnering attention.

This blog however was not created with the sole intention of pissing people off with satire or a cheap chuckle.  We from time to time will also have morsels of truth from we wish to share with our followers and members.  Today happens to be one of those days.

Based on an anonymous source we have at the Major League Soccer front offices it has been confirmed to us that the season opener for OCSC next season will be at the Citrus Bowl against NYCFC.  We will be seeing the likes of David Villa, Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo in Orlando this March to kickoff the 2016 campaign.  Orlando City was given the option by MLSHQ to play whoever they wanted for the season opener.  We chose our rivals from the Bronx.

While the MLS schedule is largely still to be determined, the opening game for Orlando City has now been confirmed to us by two separate independent sources.

The boy who cried wolf has finally delivered.  You're welcome.

Europe awaits Orlando City players...

Orlando City has wrapped up it's first campaign in Major League Soccer and already numerous players are attracting scouts from all across the globe. Former Real Sociedad manager David Moyes was spotted at the 3-1 thumping of Sporting Kansas City back in September as well current Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola was seen "drooling" stated one ILF away fan at the 5-2 demolition of New York Red Bulls in late September. Europe has been put on notice of several Orlando City players who have the quality to play for some of the top 5 leagues overseas...

Carlos Rivas: Carlos Rivas has everything that European teams look for in a winger. Rivas came to Orlando City after turning down offers from Juventus, Olympique Lyon and Derby County. One scout from Everton recently confirmed interest in the young Colombian but declared "We looked at bringing him over but his hair simply didn't live up to the standards of the Premier League." With a season under his belt at Orlando City, Rivas is only a trip to Liberty Barber Shop away from getting a call from Europe's top clubs.  John The Barber, you know what to do.

Cyle Larin: 2015 first overall pick and MLS Rookie of the Year, top flight clubs across Europe are being put on notice of Cyle "Dat Guy" Larin.  Big in stature, decent pace and a clinical finisher it's no wonder he's been declared "Less psychotic version of Diego Costa" and "Karim Benzema without the blackmailing, transgender, underage and hooker baggage."  ILF received word from a trusted source back in late August that Tottenham Hotspur from the English Premier League had submitted a bid but the Canadian striker wanted to play in front of actual supporters. Orlando City fans should enjoy 'Dat Guy' as much as possible before he ships off to Europe in the next year or two.

Kevin Molino: Some call him the 'Trinidadian Messi' while others have went as far as saying that Cristiano Ronaldo has a Kevin Molino poster in his living room. A football pundit stated after the recent El Clasico "Barcelona would've won by double digits if they had Kevin Molino." Blessed with all the tools to be a hit in Europe, if Kevin can return to his previous form before his ACL injury Orlando City should be prepared for an eight digit transfer bid next summer.

Rafael Ramos: We've learned a few things about Ramos since his move from Benfica back in 2014. He loves his fiancee, he uses Instagram a lot and he's a right back who gives zero fucks. Ramos has become the standard for fullbacks across the world as the likes of David Alaba and Dani Alves have been compared to the young Portuguese defender. A source at Chelsea FC stated "Rafael Ramos would be a great replacement for Ivanovic, who has been more useless than NYCFC home fans."
